I bought this stroller with the thought that it would last a LONG time. It is NOT well made. Everything is very plastic-y. I am sure this is for the benefit of being lightwieght, but plastic breaks very easily. I called customer service 3 times to have them send me replacement parts in the month I owned this stroller. The wheels are tiny, so it has a very bad bumpy ride. The ONLY cool thing is that it has the Freedom Harness. I miss that in my new stroller- but that’s about it. This stroller is NOT worth the expense.

I was thinking that becausethis is the 2008 model it was going to be better than the 2007. Honestly Peg perego has to do better. I LOVE the seats, and the freedom of movement harness but the stroller is flimsy, it started squeaking after a month and I notice the wheels are not entirely rubber made, they just kind of put a rubber band around the wheels to cover them. which makes me thing one you damage the wheels with regular use, what are you going to do with the stroller??????????? this is my second perego, I owned the centro and the brakes where very hard to apply and release and after six months I had to put it in the garbage, because I was not able to release the brakes anymore. […] Very dissapointed.

This is good LIGHTWEIGHT stroller, it’s not an everyday stroller that can withstand regular use. We purchased it as our 2nd stroller and use it mostly for travel and have no complaints. It’s bigger than an umbrella stroller, but given the size it’s very compact and has very convenient attachment for the infant car seat.

This stroller looks great, however it is not a good buy. My 1 1/2 year old would often times be upset when I put her in the stroller and if the child moves around enough, the freedom harness is pointless. All the child has to do is move their body up and pull and it deconnects from the stroller (which is common in a temper tantrum). Not only could she dislodge the freedom harness, she could easily scoot out the stroller by sliding down and going under the tray. I would not recommend this to a child who does not like to be “strapped down”! So with that said, I found this stroller to be a waste of time and a waste of money – it’s easier to let her walk or if you prefer a light weight stroller – the $20 umbrella stroller does the trick.

This stroller is very lightweight and pushes easily which is great but… the cup holder fell out and the recline strap broke after a few uses!!! I thought this would be an great buy because of the name brand and I was under the impression if you pay more you get more and I was soooooo wrong!!! I ended up with a travel system the green Chicco set and I love it. Dont make the same mistake as I did! Pass on this stroller!

  6. DISSAPOINTED CUSTOMER on May 20th, 2008 at 12:00 am

After 21 months of using it the chassis broke. We called Peg Perego they said the can’t do anything because the warranty was expired. Then, after spending almost [$] for the stroller plus the car seat, what we got is WORTHLESS BROKEN STROLLER and [$] less in the bank. You’d expect the product at least to last the time the child needs it, BUT IT SEEMS THAT PEG PEREGO HAS ANOTHER IDEA!!!!!! SO MUCH FOR CUSTOMER SATISFACTION!!!

The best stroller I ever seen, my son loves it.

  8. Mommy to a Sweet Little One on July 15th, 2008 at 12:00 am

The only really nice feature on this stroller is the fact that it is lightweight. We’ve only used ours a handful of times and it is already falling apart. One of the pieces on the handlebar fell off, so now the handle bar barely stays together. I called the company and they’re supposed to send us the missing piece, but we still don’t have it! The wheels are very poor, as they are already bowed out! My husband and I do not plan to make any future purchases from Peg-Perego. I think their products are WAY over-rated! I would not recommend this stroller unless you want a lightweight, over-priced stroller. We’re already in the process of purchasing another stroller, and it will not be a Peg-Perego product!

So, we bought this because we liked how it moved in the store, even though the store clerk said get the Maclaren. We didn’t even open the box!!!! Once we got home, I read reviews about the strap clip unclipping itself…so we returned it.

The one thing i hate most about the stroller is that it does not provide good coverage from the sun, wind, etc. It does not go back and forth to protect the CHILD who its made for. In addition, the cup holder is too big..I didn’t have one cup that would stay in the hole..

i am about to buy another stroller because I am essentially throwing it out..and, i hate waste! Forget about the steering, its horrible!!

  11. unhappy mommy on November 7th, 2008 at 12:00 am

I really do not like this stoller. it is all over the place when you are pushing it with or with out the child in the seat. it is very unsturdy. we used it for two long walks and it shakes and feels like it is going to fall apart. plus my son hates it. we have a another stroller that he will ride in for hours you put him in this one and he is screaming with in 5 min. of your outing. very lightweight but that is the only good thing about it. don’t spend the money for this stroller. there are others out there that are alot less money and far greater stroller.

I received this stroller as a shower gift and was looking forward to having my baby in it. My son is now 11 months old and the stroller is falling apart. The backrest is adjustable, but the fabric is beginning to rip. Two gray side covers fell off months ago and the wheels don’t turn as easily as they should. I’ve had a Peg Perego in the past that I was able to use it for my first two children. This one is falling apart within months of use.

Right before my son was born in 2006 I received this stroller as gift from my father. We loved it since it was light weight and I am a very small woman. HOWEVER, once we started to use it, was another story. First the back rest recline thing broke, then the latches on the side of the handle to close and open started popping off and I would have to search for them or close it sticking my key in the side that was missing. I had sent an email about it to Peg Perego and there was no response and I wound up buying some junky umbrella stroller. I was very busy and did not have the time to fight with them. From time to time I would send an email. I finally got an answer and it was a joke. 1yr warranty was over. So I was SOL. I keep inquiring if I could purchase the pieces to fix it. Which when I received them was unable to. Then I inquired if there was somewhere I could take it to get fixed. Still no response. DONT BUY THIS!

I have the 2008 in moka color and I love it. The stroller is lightweight, has a large basket, tray for child with cup holder. It also reclines back pretty far. Smooth ride, has a extra large canopy that completly covers baby.

  16. Ali on March 3rd, 2009 at 12:00 am

I have back problems and cant lift heavy things, therefore this stroller is perfect. It weights only 8LB and it is very easy to open and close with just one hand.

I have had this stroller for over 3 years for my daughter. I’ve had 2 other strollers, one jogger that I still use. This stroller has been invaluable and sooooo easy to use and transport. I am sorry that there are so many bad reviews but after reviewing them I realise that some of the problems are just people who don’t understand the stroller. For instance the woman who had the clip come off with recline, yes that has happened once to me when I reclined it too vigorously and if you look closely at the clip, it is easy to put back on. Not broken, just pulled off and reclipped. I had on issue with the knobs that are used to close the stroller, my husband stuffed it into a trunk with luggage and knocked off the knob. I saw it happen and thought it fell into the trunk, since we were in a hurry I didnt look for it. We later found that it was not in the trunk to reattach. Which would have been easy to do….so I contacted the manufacturer through the website, […] clipped back on and 2 years later we are still using the stroller. It is amazingly lightweight and reclines almost completely. The only downside to me is that the sunshade doesn’t move, but my daughter won’t let me move it on our other strollers anyway ( because then she cant see). She just reclines a bit more to get out of the sun. We have been on at least 4 plane trips a year since she was born and the stroller is still good as new.

I’ve never had problems with this stoller. I’ve been using it for nine months now and don’t understand why so many people have problems with it. Nothing has broken off. My son never complains when I put him in. I would definitely buy again if needed to.

  19. gbrenner on May 20th, 2009 at 12:00 am

Okay, you are going to end up w/ a umbrella stroller anyway so this is great.
I have the green bubbles and its great. That clip latch thing you don’t need anyway. All the strollers come with lap seat belts, well so does this one. It just also has the shoulder thing as a option. I just use the lap belt, and it works fine. Also I have the car seat its the best. Its heavy but safe. I took the locks down on the stroller so now it slips right in. Its a tight fit w/out it. And remember it only ways like 10 pounds.

I wanted a light, safe, easy to use and pretty stroller. I have had the stroller for over 14 months and we still use it. We have the matching car seat and have had only slight issues – the cup holder came out, the side pops out of the hole and has to be snapped back in from time to time. I think it works better with the added support of the car seat. But I keep thinking – it is lightweight and only 10 pounds. What can you expect. I only use it for quick and easy trips. For longer expeditions (beach, long walks, shopping sprees), I use the full size which offers more comfort and space and the luxury of fully reclining after a long day.

All in all, it’s not bad. It’s not all that Peg Perego is hyped up to be but again I like the look, the weight and almost one hand opening and closing.
