I haven’t gotten to use it yet, (due in Sept) but this is a nice system. It is very easy to figure out, easy to fold and unfold, and manuevers easily. The picture here doesn’t do it justice, I LOVE the pattern. I wanted something neutral and it is… black and white with a touch of the yellow. VERY CUTE in person. And I love that the car seat goes to a higher weight than most, and its light weight.

this is a great system easy to open and close just the press of a button. the basket has so much room for storage plus the cup holders for the parents with extra kids. the color is great yellow and black for the parents that are tired of seeing the same old colors over and over it’s unique for the simplicity of style and east to carry. i would recommend it plus its easy to put together.

Like most moms on here, we haven’t gotten to use this yet (new item!), but here are the reasons that we picked this travel system:

    — we think we should be able to use it for a long time: car seat goes up to 35 lbs and stroller up to 50 lbs, and the seat on the stroller looks longer than most others at BRU
    — car seat has been approved for side impact crashes, and looks very solid and safe
    — the material for the car seat looks like it should breathe a bit better than some of the other car seats, and there are no flaps or folds of material that might irritate the baby’s skin
    — car seat clicks into stroller in a very secure way (not that you SHOULD, but you can actually pick up the whole stroller by the handle of the car seat) without needing additional levers or clasps
    — stroller pushes quite well, and is at a comfortable level for both myself (5’4″) and my husband (6′), although the height of the handle cannot be adjusted
    — truly does fold up with one hand (without having to use your feet too)
    — good shade for the stroller– using the shades from the car seat and the stroller, can cover the baby entirely, and the peek-a-boo opening is covered by a flap so that you can keep the sun out
    — the storage basket is super accessible since it can bend on springs, meaning that you do not have to have the stroller back in the upright position to put things under the stroller
    — the tray has two good-sized cup holders, as well as a snap-close compartment that actually looks big enough to put things in (keys, wipes, etc)

Things we aren’t too sure about yet:
    — the shade for the carseat seems a tiny bit flimsy, and is difficult to put up and down with one hand (although it works fine with two hands)
    — the seat back of the stroller doesn’t go up using a lever/latch system, but a cord system with a plastic clasp. It SEEMS stable, and I like that you can therefore put the seat back in any position, not just the pre-programed positions of many other strollers, but it may be a bit difficult to re-position the seat back if there was a squirmy toddler in the stroller.
    — we haven’t been able to figure out how to order additional bases for the car seat

We loved this stroller as soon as we saw it, espcially because it was the ONLY stroller we went up to and could immediatley figure out how to work it. It collapses with one hand and stands on its own; it also unfolds with one hand. This sysem doesnt look like the same old boring stroller that everyone else has, it has classy, chic look to it. The material is soft and seems breathable and stain resistant, being black is also a plus in hiding the stains. The wheels are big enough to go over rough terrain but not too big to be awkward going through department stores. The carrier seat seems very durable and safe, the sides around where the baby’s head will be seem a bit higher than most, which makes me feel better about side impact. It attaches in out of of the stroller and shopping carts very easy and securly and was the only seat in the store that secured in a shopping cart from the back not the front which means it wouldn’t have a chance at tipping over (even though it says you’re not supposed to put them in the shopping cart). In all, this system has great features, the only negative I would say is it is a bit bulky and heavy but in comparison to other systems it’s average weight (30lbs). To me though, the weight is a plus, I don’t feel like it would tip over if the weight is unbalanced like the lightweight strollers would.

This stroller was the first one my fiance looked at and chose–we like how sturdy it feels, it collapses easily, and looks fantastic! We love how you don’t have to manually lock the carseat in place–it just clicks right in. The only downfall I can find is that it’s a bit on the heavy side, but since it carries a bigger infant if needed and up to 50lbs w/out the carseat, we feel it’s worth the weight! Plus–it was ridiculously easy to set up!

Does anyone know how and where to find a 2nd car seat base for this Bertini B5 Travel System. We can’t find anywhere and love this system, but need 2.

  7. Woman on July 5th, 2009 at 12:00 am

Very sturdy, great quality! Origanlly we bought the Evenflo Aura (Green poka dot one) and it was a waiste of money, very cheaply made this one is worth every penny extra. The structure and set up is much nicer. I love that the car seat actually locks into the stroller, very sturdy. Also the base is much nicer and easier to place into the car. HIghly reccomend this one!

  8. g on July 5th, 2009 at 12:00 am

I’ve also been looking for extra bases, I haven’t bought this product but hesitate to purchase if I’m not going to be able to find extra bases. Need 2 also. thanks

I’m also looking for add’l bases if anyone has any idea where to find them please post. Thanks

  10. New Mom on July 6th, 2009 at 12:00 am

I have recently purchased this stroller & carseat and I must say it is WONDERFUL. Very easy to put together and easy to fold and unfold. I like how the car seat is bigger and deeper then most. Very classy stroller

  11. Coy soon 2b proud father on July 7th, 2009 at 12:00 am

I going to purchase this set soon!! @ my local Babies r Us I noticed that the mobile base is the exact same base as the Eddie Bauer base that they sell separately in store. The next time I’m in store I will actually put the car seat into the Eddie Bauer base to make sure it fits properly. The downside is the Eddie Bauer is beige not black. That is all I have been able to find thus far. Nothing a can of paint can’t fix 🙂 Good Luck!!

  12. expectant mommy on July 7th, 2009 at 12:00 am

I got this stroller off my registry and I love it! It is very easy to purchase an additional base: call 1-800-544-1108, tell them you need to order a replacement base. They will ask you for the manufacture number and manufature date, which can easily be found on the bottom of your car seat (mine was 22-346 VAL, 3/20/09). Then they will ask if you want black or tan. You can pay with visa or mastercard over the phone or send a money order. The cost was $34.99 for the base plus about $8 for shipping and tax. Hope this helps!

  13. mer on July 7th, 2009 at 12:00 am

We don’t have this yet- BUT WE CAN”T WAIT TO USE IT!!! Our beautiful daughter will look so cute and stylish in her new ride![…] I can’t remember what model GRACO the seat base is, but its not called COSCO. My understanding is that this COSCO BERTINI travel system is a new model either made by GRACO or is interchangeable with a GRACO base. I hope this can help!

  15. Lindsay on July 7th, 2009 at 12:00 am

I also need the extra bases. Has anyone tried the Cosco Designer 22 Separate Base – Black? I think this stroller is made by Cosco.

  16. Logansmommy on July 8th, 2009 at 12:00 am

Fell in love with this stroller at the store. It is a beautiful color, great quality, and super simple to assemble and fold. It is bulky, and takes up quite a bit of room in my car, but it feels sturdy which I love. The only thing is that a second car seat is not currently available. I emailed babiesrus and the only thing the could suggest was waiting until the manufacturer’s website was updated (it currently states “coming soon”). So I’m just hoping the site is up and running by the time my baby gets here…

  17. Coosie on July 8th, 2009 at 12:00 am

Dorel Juvenile Group – 1-800-544-1108. Apparently, you have to call them with specific information about the system and then you can order the addtl car seat base. I am not going to buy the Bertinin now. Just to many weird issues w/ this that is making me nervous. Maybe the next kid will get this.

Good luck to all those looking for the bases.

  18. CB on July 8th, 2009 at 12:00 am

I was researching this travel system and saw a lot of you wanting information on an extra car base. Well I found out that the extra bases are supposedly in manufacturing and will be available shortly. Any other questions contact Dorel Juvenile Group.

  19. New Mom on July 9th, 2009 at 12:00 am

I saw this stoller and carseat in the store and fell in love with it- I wanted to read all the reviews before I added it to the registry and I see all the posts about another base- do you have to have a base for this or can you put it in the car with a seatbelt? I forgot to look at that while I was in the store. If anyone knows, I’d appciate the feedback. Thanks!

  20. shellyb84 on July 9th, 2009 at 12:00 am

Our baby is due next month so we haven’t gotten to use it yet but we love the look and the materials seem really nice. I believe the car seat base is the Surefit base, look under the Cosco bases.

  21. Joe on July 10th, 2009 at 12:00 am

This is a very nice travel system, however there are draw backs to it. Baby’s r us does not sell additional parts for it (base) which is very inconvenient. Web site for Bertini still not up and running so no way to order an extra base. If needed for one car, than its an ideal travel system, but for multiple cars, may want to reconsider.

  22. Sara on July 12th, 2009 at 12:00 am

We’re in luck! I was very frusturated like many of you to the fact that there was not an extra base. Technically there is not. HOWEVER, The Eddie Bauer Car Seat Base and the Bertini are made by the SAME manufacturer COSCO. Look them up. These bases in the store are IDENTICAL. The only difference is that the Bertini base is black and the Eddie Bauer or Cosco base is tan… In the store, the brand name said SureFit, however it says Eddie Bauer on the side of it. It is identical to the Bertini, compare and you will see! I latched the Bertini car seat into the Eddie Bauer base in store, and wala! It worked! So in store the extra base will be a tan Eddie Bauer Base (manufactured by Cosco) so it won’t match and be black, but who cares, it stays in the car! Yeah! We can get this stroller after all!

  23. New Mom To Be on July 12th, 2009 at 12:00 am

I am currently expecting and am looking for a stroller, my husband and I really liked this stroller in the store but were concerned about needing an extra base. After some research we have found that the Eddie Bauer base works with this, we did test this theory in the store, only con is it doesnt come in black to match but it snaps in perfectly. Hope this helps everyone that was in the hunt for that extra base.

  24. Mor Mor on July 13th, 2009 at 12:00 am

After using many, many stroller systems throughout my years in child care, I have finally found one that is safe, secure, easy to work with and store, and even pleasant to look at! Some were too light to hold a tenacious two year old; some were so expensive that we spent valuable hours cleaning the daily dirt off of them; some fabrics were just plain ugly; some strollers were too bulky to fit in a compact car storage area; and some strollers were equipped with so many extras to buy that the prices rivaled my mortgage payment! This stroller, purchased on no special or sale price, was not cheap nor expensive. It was all-inclusive: with cup holders for thirsty Moms: a huge storage basket with a step on spring opening that will outlast the baby: duel sunscreen bonnets that will make a nice dark sleeping spot for baby when both are closed up and if she should ever sleep: a snack tray baby will inevitably use for launching vege crackers at onlookers in the grocery: and even the availability of extra bases from the manufacturer over the phone. What more could I ask? Well, it could encompass a diaper changing area, a bottle warmer, a drink cooler, and lotion and bug spray dispencers but all in all, it is a great, safe, easy to set-up, use and fold-up stroller system at a fair price…and it even looks good, too! This is not rocket science folks; buy whatever fits you and your lifestyle so long as it is safe and pleasant to ride in for your child…you can learn to tolerate a lot if the baby is safe and happy.

  25. Expecting my first on July 13th, 2009 at 12:00 am

I havent had my baby yet but I assembled the stroller already and tried it out on my 2 yr old nephew. It was very easy to put together and is a very smooth ride. My nephew even climbed into the carseat and he actually fits in it comftorably. I like how the craseat has a level on it and it comes with a head support for an infant, as does the stroller. The only thing that is not so great is how heavy it is, but no travel system is really light, atleast under 500$. It’s not super bulky, and the quality seems better than the graco travel systems in my opinion, even the chicco.

  26. Angela on July 14th, 2009 at 12:00 am

[…] LOVE the fact that this seat is rated up to 35 pounds, as baby has to be backwards facing for 25lbs AND one year (in Maine at least). The other seat we were going to get is only good up to 22 pounds, forcing a third intemediary seat between infant and forward-facing.

  27. Peaches on July 15th, 2009 at 12:00 am

I’m due in September and I’m looking forward to using it. I love the colors. It’s perfect for both parents. I really don’t have anything bad to say about it. I told all my co-workers that are expecting also that it is worth buying it….
    Great choice!!!!

  28. Not so new mom on July 20th, 2009 at 12:00 am

I love this stroller! it’s stylish and looks like it will last a while. The only thing I worry about is safety info. I know that with my first daughter I purchased a britax because it was crash tested at a much higher speed then the rest.. wondering if any was able to find safety specs on this system??

  29. alena713 on July 21st, 2009 at 12:00 am

Finnaly we found a stroller that is stylish and rides well. We’ve purchased the Cortina Travel system, but returned it after we found this stroller at Babies R Us….it was very easy to set up and since we didn’t know the sex of our baby this stroller was great for either. We’re very pleased with it and our baby GIRL enjoys to go for a ride in it….

  30. Mommy and Wifey on July 22nd, 2009 at 12:00 am

After reading much reviews on multiple stroller systems, I weeded through the ones I liked and made a list. I headed down to my local Babys R Us and went on a hunt with my list in hand and looked at several, but did not see this one with all the others. I tried out several systems and found them to be difficult and akward to navigate, then I turned down the end of the isle and there it was on a endcap, in all it’s beautiful glory. I was so excited, because I loved the fact that this one is rated to 35lbs. for the carseat unlike most others that only go to 22 lbs. I loved it’s simple gender nuetral pattern and the quality was unsurpassed in comparison to others, such as Graco or even the Chicco. I’m due with my second child a boy, this November and I’m excited and extremely pleased with this system. It was a breeze to put together and looks sophisticated and classy. Would highly recommend to anyone concerned about quality and safety!

  31. Amberleigh- expecting number 3! on July 31st, 2009 at 12:00 am

We haven’t been able to use it yet (due in November), but we have become professionals when it comes to strollers! We have done the cheapest to the most expensive, and always have to buy more in-between. We had been looking for a reversible stroller but, after the research, found that with so many moveable parts- it would start to break. We were so happy to find this one on display! Sturdy, easy to manage, folds nicely and compactly, and very attractive. Very easy basket (HUGE!) access with a spring accessible rear rod. The seat folds back completely to make a bassinet for your infant, as well!!! We loved the fact that the car seat had so many uses- preemie up to 35 pounds and 17% more legroom! We can’t wait to use it!

I have 3 month old baby who is 16.5 Lbs he is huge this car seat while hold him till he is 35 pounds perfect. The stroller is very trendy and stylish. I fell in love with at first slight, the stroller rides smooth. I very happy with my stroller/car seat it was a good buy. :o) It fits both a boy and girl awesome

  35. Wyatt's Mom on August 6th, 2009 at 12:00 am

This stroller was super easy to assemble and super stylish! Just like everyone else however the extra base thing is a negative.

  36. The Prince's Mommy on August 7th, 2009 at 12:00 am

This was just what we were looking for. It was easy to assemble and works for all of our needs. It is large enough to grow in and we have long babies that need the extra room. I hate seeing babies legs hanging out of their infant carriers. The color was great because we didn’t know what we were having when we bought it. Stylish enough for either sex. I wish the extra bases were sold in stores, but I was able to purchase one through the manufacturer.

  37. Kaylynn's Mommy on August 8th, 2009 at 12:00 am

Just got this system. I was able to put it together myself and I have never attempted to put anything like this together before! Im not a fan of where the warning labels are placed, and im not sure where they are located on the other travel system car seats and strollers. Love the colors and the pattern! Easy to fold up, not too heavy and so smooth. So much more sturdy than the other systems in the store! Very happy with my decision!

  38. Sunshine on August 11th, 2009 at 12:00 am

I am expecting any day now and since the last 2 strollers we picked out were out of stock we choose this one next. It was the best choice we made! The material is a little bit more heavy duty than the last 2 strollers we picked out. I love this stroller and cant wait to bring my baby girl home in it!

  39. Nugget's Mom on August 20th, 2009 at 12:00 am

I love this system!!! I am a mom of a 2 week old. We have used this stroller so much already! I put it together by myself at 8 1/2 months pregnant, and it was soooo easy. The seat pops into place so easily in the car and the stroller. It manuvers great and is so easy to push! Another great thing is the huge basket underneath that holds a ton of stuff! I still have not been able to find a negative thing about it!

  41. Angel on August 25th, 2009 at 12:00 am

My husband and I were looking for a gender neutral stroller car seat combo. This one is great, it was easy for my husband to put together, it goes from 4-35lbs. You will need to by an extra base and Babies R Us carries it, the […] surefit base, that happens to be in a Eddie Bauer box. My baby sits very comfortable in it, and its easy to move the straps for when the baby gets bigger. IIt fold with ease and stands up so you don’t have to bend down to get it. The basket is big, still easy to get to when the seat is laid back.
