The new 2010 Joovy Caboose Ultralight Stand-On Tandem Stroller is the best stroller for parents of two young children. If you go on any family outings this is the stroller to get! The unique Stand On Tandem design empowers your older child to get on and off the stroller without help from mom or dad. The Caboose is the perfect stroller for theme parks like Disney World, Sea World, and the local mall or park; it moves your family smoothly in these environments. The Caboose has made riding in a stroller a fun thing to do; especially for the older child sitting/standing in the back. They suddenly become so independent and you will notice it with the big smile on their face!

We listen to our customers’ feedback and added more! Check out the new front seat recline (3rd position 150 degrees) that allows your baby to nap comfortably. During these nap times the reclining seat covers the rear bench seat, so older brother or sister will have to stand in the rear. We did not sacrifice the size of the stroller by stretching it, we wanted to keep the short, single stroller wheel base, making it the easiest handling tandem stroller – by far.

For even more comfort we have added a rear suspension and now all FOUR wheels will cushion the ride for your little ones. For added safety we have put in a linked parking brake, press on either pedal and both sides will lock. The Ultralight also includes the famous neoprene Joovy Parent Organizer. It is fully loaded with two cup holders, two pockets, a zippered pocket that’s perfect for keys, cell phones, cameras, etc. Of course, also included is the car seat adapter, turning the Caboose into a travel system for two.

The improvements don’t stop there. We designed a larger storage basket, and you will also find big side pockets accessible from the outside making shopping even easier. The new Ultralight has the familiar huge canopy Joovy is known for. You will love it on those hot summer days.

  • The Caboose Ultralight is the most lightweight, compact, maneuverable tandem available
  • Oversized canopy with visor extension. Three position reclining front seat
  • Large storage basket with side pockets. Parent organizer included
  • Linked rear parking brakes. Easy trigger fold design
  • Removable tray with 2 cup holders. Universal car seat adapter included

Great product. Fairly smooth rolling and easy to maneuver. Toddler loves to stand on the rear seat. Shade is larger than other strollers and it covers both kids. Larger than expected when folded with universal adapter, but OK without. Not too comfy for rear toddler when using child safety seat. Greenie color kinda funky!

I had the original Caboose from Joovy. We just had a new child and I got the new Ultralight. It is awesome. It is the most lightweight tandem stroller I have ever used. The new recline position for napping is GREAT. The canopy is GREAT. The colors are GREAT. The parent organizer is GREAT.
    Thanks Joovy.

I have assembled the stroller and tried it out with my 2 1/2 year old in both seats. We are still waiting on baby girl, but I am already happy with the stroller. The only thing I can forsee as a problem is that the bench seat does not have very much room between the front seat. It is almost like it should have been pushed out a little bit farther. I hope big brother will still have room when baby sis is using the front seat.

Love this double stroller! We needed a double stroller that would be great for our 4 year old and 5 week old boys. This works great. It was easy to assemble. VERY easy to push and turn with both boys in it (sitting and car seat).
Easy to fold up and easy to convert from seat to car seat option.
My 4 year thinks he is a "big boy" because he can sit or stand and get on and off the stroller when he wants.
I would recommend to families that needs a double stroller but the older child is big for a traditional double stroller seat.

    good stroller..

  6. super mom on June 29th, 2010 at 12:00 am

I would this for my 3 year old and my 16 month old. This thing is huge folded up took the whole trunk of my 2010 dodge caravan. It was hard for my husband to steer with just my 16 month old in it. My 3 year old was so uncomfortable sitting in it that I sold it 3 weeks after buying it. I couldn’t return it because I threw away the box. This says ultralight but it’s still really heavy. The only things good about it is the canopy great sun coverage and the 3rd recline position.

Lightweight, easy to push around and stylish!

  8. AE on July 7th, 2010 at 12:00 am

I have a 3 1/2 year old and a 1 year old, and this stroller is perfect for them. I like to go for long walks for exercise, and it is a bit too far for my toddler to walk…this is a great solution! It is very maneuverable, the sun hood covers them well, and the caddy is very helpful in holding my keys and our water bottles. I would recommend this stroller for parents with children of this age.

  9. MB on July 9th, 2010 at 12:00 am

I have a 2 and a 4 yr old. The umbrella can be adjusted , it shades them both, the seat can be layed down for naps (could not find any other stroller for this price that does). It’s light and very easy to use. Both of my girls love it, they like to switch seats. The basket is a good size but difficult to access when you have both children on the stroller, the opening is tight.

I just purchased this stroller for my soon to be 3 year old and 13 month old. I wanted something a little smaller than the traditional joovy caboose. I also have a Baby Trend Double Sit and Stand stroller. I can’t wait to see which one is better at Disney. Will let you know!

Love the color Greenie & love how the seats both move.

  11. Mom of 2 girls on July 12th, 2010 at 12:00 am

Just assembled this stroller and it is the perfect double stroller for a newborn and a toddler. It is the lightest, most compact option we have found for a double stroller with two young kids and very easy to maneuver. Have yet to try it for long distances, but looking forward to it.

  12. iran has her hands full on July 13th, 2010 at 12:00 am

i simply love this stroller. i have a four year old boy and a two year old little girl. my daughter immediately felt comfortable in this stroller. i like that she can recline far back enough to take good naps. and my son loves that he can jump on and off the stroller on his own. the storage compartment is big enough for a diaper bag and shopping bags, but it can get tricky when putting things in/out when they are both on the stroller. i like that it is not heavy at all—i use to have a graco duoglider and that thing was HEAVYYYY! also it took less than 15 mins to build it. i take it everywhere!

  13. Hip Mom on July 15th, 2010 at 12:00 am

I bought this stroller to replace my side by side for vacation. Side by sides are nice for a walk to the park, but too big to go shopping with or take on an airplane.

This stroller is great because the sun shield is HUGE…it covers both kids (which the old one did not). My son 3.5 loves to sit on the back. He can buckle and unbuckle himself as needed. The front seat is great b/c it reclines easily. My daughter fell asleep and I was able to lower it without waking her up. It also comes with an attachment bar for an infant carrier…had I known this I would have bought this one instead of the side by side I’ve been using for the past year. This new model also come with the parents organizer, so you don’t need to buy it.

  14. Soon-to-be mom-of-2 on July 17th, 2010 at 12:00 am

I got this stroller after doing a lot of research and asking friends who also had a Joovy stroller. I chose the ultralight because it was lightweight, it had a cushion and a buckle for the older child in the back and it came with the extras.

As soon as we received it in the mail, my 3 year old son couldn’t wait to help me put it together. He knew exactly which seat would be his and which would be for baby! We even tried out our carseat (Graco SnugRide) to make sure it fit right and he ran to get his baby doll and had a blast pretending that it was his real baby!

I think one of my favorite features is the fact that the canopy will cover both of my children at the same time!

I wish the basket was a little bigger but that would just make the whole stroller longer. I love that this stroller is not overly long like most double strollers! It’s not much bigger than the single stroller that came with our car seat! It seems very sturdy too! It’s also super easy to steer…even in my small house!! It does fold down small but tall (if that makes sense) because of the canopy and car seat adaptor.

I can’t wait to use it!!!

  15. Mommy of 2 Princesses on July 21st, 2010 at 12:00 am

Love the new stroller! Will have a 3 year old and a newborn in the Fall, and looks like this stroller will fit both kids great! Comes with car seat adapter (no need to buy one) My daughter loves the "big sister" seat. Sun shade will cover both kids. Basket is nice and big for our stuff, and it folds up nice and small. Not so heavy. And the color is fun!

  16. Mia on July 30th, 2010 at 12:00 am

The "brownie" color is misleading on all the websites including itself. Its more of a mud brown, and doesn’t coordinate very well with the dark brown Greco Safeseat we purchased. That said, I love that I have a semi-compact, easily maneuverable way to tote by precious cargo. The parent organizer is great! The storage compartment is huge, and folds down pretty easily. I purchased this for my soon to be two year old, and our newborn we’re expecting sometime in September.

My only dislike is the lack of padding on the toddler seat back.. I sensed that my toddler was a little uncomfortable when seated up against the back.

Took about 1/2 hr to install. All in all, I’m pretty happy with it. It looks high quality, sturdy, and has gotten great reviews.

  17. mc on August 1st, 2010 at 12:00 am

    – It is compatible with our not so old Graco car seat.
    – It is so light and easy to maneuver with one hand, 2 kids keep your hands busy all the time.

    – My daughter loves to ride with new baby which is great to bound.

I am glad I found this stroller, there are other brands that are not compatible or not as good as this one. I think is a little bit expensive but it is worthed is a good long term investment for us and our kids.

  18. My 2 Sons on August 2nd, 2010 at 12:00 am

We did a lot of research on double strollers (online reviews, asking strangers, trying products…), and we are so happy with Joovy. The stroller isn’t heavier than our regular full-size stroller and maneuvers like a dream. For a tandem, you’ll have no problem getting this one around tight corners. My 3-year-old LOVES riding on it (he’s ready to hop on before I can even unfold it), and my Chicco infant seat fit the adapter fine. It also opens and closes easily. I wish the basket was more accessible–you have to unsnap it for side access–but I love everything else about this stroller.

  19. JoJo on August 3rd, 2010 at 12:00 am

Love it, Love it. I give it a five star if the foot rest in the front seat can be improved, it was too small my son’s feet keep slipping and falling out of it. My 3yrs old and 3 months old fits well in it and I don’t fell like driving a tank around the park when we do our daily walk. Easy to get it in and out of the trunk of my corolla.

  20. Working mom of 2 on August 10th, 2010 at 12:00 am

I’m curently using this stroller for my 23 month old and 3 month old. It has been fabulous over the past couple of weeks. It allows me to keep baby in her carseat and while adjusting to my toddlers needs. Sometimes she wants to walk, sometimes she wants to ride and sometimes I need to keep her secured in a seat. It’s very easy to use and comes with everything you need. Perfect addition to the growing family 🙂

  21. Abbie, Mom of Toddler and Baby on August 10th, 2010 at 12:00 am

I originally had purchased the Graco Quattro Duo Double Stroller. This stroller is good if you are looking for two FULL seats for your kiddos– complete with all the bells and whistles (snack trays, cup holders, and storage galore). Also, it might be better for longer outings than the Joovy Ultralight as there are two full seats and they are a little more cushy. But it was SO heavy, that I dreaded getting it in and out of my car. Also, often I found myself running here or there with one of the kids while my husband stayed home with the other, and I did not want to go through the trouble of the taking the double stroller out and putting the single stroller in, but the Graco was just NOT practical for putting just one kid in. It’s like pushing a semi (there is no way I would want to push it in a smaller store, only a huge warehouse or outside). I really needed a stroller that would be great for two kids, but also ok if I only needed it for one.

The Joovy Caboose Ultralight was the answer for me. I LOVE how light it is, and how easy it is to get it in and out of the car, and how easy it is to steer and maneuver. It’s major selling point for me was that IT HAS THE WHEELBASE OF A SINGLE STROLLER. Which means, that when I just have my toddler or my infant, it is great for pushing with only one child. And my toddler loves that she can sit in the back facing me (we haven’t used the stand feature yet). And often she wants to walk anyway, so the full double stroller was just unnecessary. But, if I need to contain her in a seat, this stroller does that great.

It also has cute styling. I love the blue color. It is easy to fold and unfold (although I would say the Graco was a little bit easier in this area) and the infant seat goes in and out easily.
The one thing is that the seats are not super padded and do not seam quite as comfortable as the Graco.

If you are wondering if the Joovy will fit in the back of your car, I can attest since I previously had the TINIEST car, that if you remove the car seat attachment and the umbrella shade (which, honestly, is quite easy to do), it is one of the most compact strollers out there. I tried MANY double strollers in my trunk and the only ones that would fit were the Graco (just because of the way it folded, not because it is a small stroller by any means) and the Joovy (with attachments removed).

If you are debating between the Ultralight and the regular Joovy Caboose, I tried both of them. The weight didn’t really make a difference to me. And I liked the pocket that the regular Joovy had on the back seat (my toddler liked to put her things in it) that the Ultralight doesn’t have. The major selling feature to me of the Ultralight is the large sunshade. You absolutely can not get sun coverage for both kids at the same time with the regular Joovy. You need the larger shade that is on the Joovy Ultralight. The fact that the seat reclines farther back than on the Ultralight Joovy is nice, but was not a big deal for me since my kid never naps in the stroller. The other selling feature was that the parent organizer is included with the Ultralight. That item is a must, and you have to purchase it separately for the regular Joovy.

All in all, I am very happy with my purchase.

  22. Mom of 2 under 18 months on August 16th, 2010 at 12:00 am

Our oldest is a bit too young for the jump seat at 18 months. But he can sit in the front seat just fine, and we use it with our Chicco KeyFit30 carseat at times for our infant. I figure in a year we will get more use out of the double feature of this stroller. It is easy to navigate, and not too big. There is a bar in the back near the standing/jump seat that rolls, which makes me nervous about my kid slipping off when standing. When the stroller is used with a carseat carrier it doesn’t leave much room in the back for the other kid to sit on the jump seat. I wish the back seat was more comfortable looking.

  23. Ellie & Chloe's Mom on August 20th, 2010 at 12:00 am

I purchased this stroller for my 6 month old and a 2 yr old… and I couldn’t be happier! It’s perfect. The fabric cleans really easily (a concern at first because I purchased the greenie–which I absolutely LOVE). The oversized canopy adjusts all the way to the front and back, covering both my kids throughout the day. Also it’s easy to steer with one hand, since its nice and compact (about the same as a single stroller). But best of all, it is LIGHTWEIGHT!! With ease, I can get it in and out of my Yukon by myself.

Even if you only have one child now, I recommend it because when your toddler refuses to sit in the stroller (and believe me, they will), s/he will have the option to stand in the back.

  24. Christine - little mom on August 25th, 2010 at 12:00 am

I have a 3 yrs old and 4 month old. we researched a ton of strollers – joovy is the one that steers the best, weighs the least, folds down easiest and works best for my squirmy 3 year old who is in/out of it all day. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. The back seat thing is adjustable fwd/back with the belt so if I need to change the front recline my 3 yr old can move her seat back and still sit! Its WORTH EVERY PENNY.

  25. Mother of two on August 26th, 2010 at 12:00 am

I have a 2.5 year old and a 1 month old. My two year old loves to run, so I wanted a sit and stand so she could easily get on and off. I also wanted something that would fit my infant car seat, maneuver well, and be manageable to carry. This achieves all of the above.

I haven’t had much chance to use it yet, but have tested it out. My Graco infant car seat fits well, but the front has to recline pretty far accommodate it. This doesn’t leave allot of room for my toddler to sit, but she loves it anyway. I actually have a hard time getting her off. My only concern is when we are out and she is tired.

It was really easy to assemble and folds up quickly. I think the basket will be accessible enough when my toddler is walking. The one thing it is missing is somewhere to hang a diaper bag from.

  26. Mum of two on August 27th, 2010 at 12:00 am

    I really love this stroller!

My 4 year old gets right in and buckles his seat belt…ready to go. I love that he can go in and out by himself while on outings, etc.

Child in front has a snack tray with two cup holders..5 point harness..and seat reclines all the way…

The parent storage is really handy. …and the cup holders keep drinks snug..

The storage basket underneath is good for all the basics..there is also side pockets on it for little things..

I am 5 months pregnant, and I have no problems with the stroller..I can take it easily in and out. It is the easiest to steer…and I feel close to my children…With other double strollers…they are like limos…I felt so far away from the front child…especially when they are infants…

The sun shade is amazing too.

Have not used the infant attachment for the car seat yet..

We have a 2yr old and a 2 week old. This product is fantastic. The 2 yr old loves his special seat, the baby seat adapter is fantastic, and I find no problems setting it up and taking it down. It also handles very well. Great product!

  28. Tina busy mom of two on August 31st, 2010 at 12:00 am

I have been searching for the perfect stroller and my goodness, I think that I have finally found it!!
I have one of the huge bulky double strollers for my boys who are 9 months and 2 years. I could not find something that worked for all of us and this does. It’s very lightweight, folds fast and pushes with ease. My youngest has enough room to sit without looking uncomfortable and lay back when he’s tired. My oldest just loves that he is able to stand up ride along and jump off whenever he needs too. And I love that I can store my keys phone, and my bags and have enough room for it all!
I have Brownie color and I love it! I’m glad that I finally found the perfect stroller that we all love.
The only cons that I have are… upon receiving my stroller, it was missing the 2 pins for the wheels. I had to run to the local hardware store and buy 2 and thank goodness they worked! And I wish it had a sturdy cup holder that holds a fountain soda in a cup.

  29. 2 under 3 on September 3rd, 2010 at 12:00 am

I should have saved myself the hassle (and garage full of strollers) and just bought this one the first time. It’s worth the extra money. Super light, small footprint, easy to maneuver, wheels are quiet and provide a nice ride. It feels much sturdier than the competition too. It holds most infant carriers and my son can hitch a ride on the back. It’s not good for all day with 2 kids if you want them both to nap at the same time or take a boat load of stuff with you, but for everyday use and simplicity, I give it thumbs way up. My sitter even commented on how much nicer it is than other strollers she’s used.

  30. Mom of 3 on September 3rd, 2010 at 12:00 am

I love this stroller. It is light weight easy to open and close. Kids love sitting in front and back. Helps me out tremendously because I am usually going places alone.

  31. on the go mom of 2 on September 14th, 2010 at 12:00 am

I love this stroller! It is lightweight and very easy to steer, way better than my first stroller with my first child. I would buy another one tomorrow if I needed to.

  32. Busy mom of two on September 16th, 2010 at 12:00 am

I researched many sit and stand strollers and finally found this one. This stroller is great! The front seat reclines all the way. The stroller stears awesome and turns on a dime. My three year old loves sitting on the back seat and even standing up to see where we are going. The only downfall is the handle is a bit high for a short person. The stroller folds easily and doesn’t take up much more room than a single stroller. Another great feature, the back seat slides so you can access the storage underneath.

  33. Yoga Mom on September 20th, 2010 at 12:00 am

You will find that spending a few extra dollars for this sit and stand is truly worth it. One hand steering is a breeze even with a giant 6 month old (23lbs) and a 45lb pre-schooler. The sealed ball bearings keep the dirt out and the stroller rolling smoothly. The orange is nice and bright just like in the picture. This stroller is light, but long when folded. It took some patience to get it in the back of our babysitter’s Mazda 3. My only true complaint is the padding on the seat is quite sparse. We remedied this by purchasing the Joovy all weather pad.

  34. Joovy not so groovy on September 25th, 2010 at 12:00 am

Thought this stroller would be great for my infant & toddler. But when the infant seat is attatched my toddler could not sit comfortably at all on the little bench provided. The bar from the front seat dug into his back. So since it wasn’t going to work out I had to return it.

  35. Paul on October 11th, 2010 at 12:00 am

First off, the only reason we own the Ultralight, is that we had to return the Mia Moda Compagno. The Compagno is probably the best sit and stand stroller for the money, but the biggest problem is that it weighs too much! My wife simply couldn’t lift it, so we had to return it.

Pros: Lightweight; Easy fold; 3 way front recline; Large canopy that covers both kids; Large storage area; Steers easily

    Cons: Stroller does not stand when folded; Lacks good parent tray (included one is very basic);

  36. busy mommy on October 12th, 2010 at 12:00 am

This stroller is perfect for people with a baby and a toddler. It’s light weight, easy to move around, and fits well through doorways and through crowded stores. I was surprised at how compact the design was compared with our old single child graco stroller. It’s actually smaller then the old one but with more space for your child and the added bonus sit/stand seat in back. I love how large the canopy is, plus all the storage on board is great. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the front seat has to be in a reclined position to fit an infant car seat, which means the child in back has to stand instead of sit. That part isn’t a big deal, it’s the only complaint I have. By the way, setting it up was super easy, you hardly have to do anything.

  37. Joovy for Life on October 23rd, 2010 at 12:00 am

I use this stroller everywhere I go. It opens and closes quickly and easily. It is so easy to push and handles like a dream. I have a Joovy Kooper also and the ultralight Caboose handles just as well and rides just as smooth and it doesn’t seem much bigger either. AMAZING! The seat for my 2 year old slides forward and backward which is nice for putting the diaper bag in the basket underneath. That also comes in handy when my 6 month old is sleeping and I want to recline the seat all the way. It is a tight fit for my sitting toddler when it is reclined all the way but she can still sit and of course she can stand with no problem. I simply can’t find anything negative about this stroller. Both my children seem comfortable and secure. The parent organizer is a nice bonus. The cup holders even fit large water bottles and there are plenty of places to put things like your cell phone and wallet that you don’t want to be trapped in the basket underneath. I have no doubt that I chose the best double stroller out there! Worth every penny! Thanks Joovy!!
